• The Joint Fiscal Committee for the General Assembly has issued an RFP for expert legal services to assist the General Assembly with a decision about the continued operation of Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station beyond its current operating license.  For additional information, click on link below

• The Department of Public Service Energy Efficiency Division released a Request For Proposal for the Administration of the Vermont Small Scale Renewable Energy Incentive Program. Please contact Kelly Launder for additional information or with any questions.
• The Department of Public Service released its public draft of the Comprehensive Energy Plan on May 27, 2008, which outlines the state’s efforts to provide affordable energy, environmental responsibility and ongoing reliability.
  
• This is a petition by Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee, LLC ("EVY"), and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. ("ENO")(collectively with EVY, "Entergy VY"), for such approvals from this Board and the Vermont General Assembly as may be required to operate the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station ("VY Station") after March 21, 2012. • Pursuant to Act 160, the Vermont Department of Public Service is required to convene public meetings to gather public information and input regarding the continued operation of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Facility in Vernon, Vermont. The department will be hosting four public meetings and one online conference (to be announced). The department encourages Vermonters to participate in either a meeting or the online conference.

• Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) along with the Vermont Department of Public Service commissioned Shaw Stone & Webster Management Consultants, Inc. to perform a Comprehensive Business Process and Audit.
• The Vermont Department of Public Service (DPS) is pleased to announce the launch of the Clean Energy Development Fund (CEDF) Loan Program. This program will offer low interest loans to help finance a wide variety of clean and/or renewable electric energy technologies. • Vermont and other states join in study group producing Avoided Energy Supply Costs in New England. Report updated August 10, 2007.
• As part the first Public Service Board workshop for the investigation in Docket 7307, the Department of Public Service's consultant will provide a status of the current technology, an overview of the work plan, and the analytical methodology they will use to study the costs and benefits of advanced metering infrastructure. • The Department of Public Service has been tasked with conducting a statewide public engagement process on energy planning focused on electricity supply choices facing the state beginning in 2012. For more information, visit Vermont's Energy Future.
• The DPS has released Utility Facts 2006, a comprehensive source for public utility information. As it becomes available, the Department will regularly update Utility Facts with electric, gas, telecommunications, and water utility information. • The Department of Public Service Announces Public Hearings on
  Telecommunications Plan Update.
• The Department has prepared a pair of reports which describe the state of broadband availability in Vermont and a path toward universal access of broadband services. The first report, Understanding Broadband Deployment in Vermont, describes the factors which are advancing the development of broadband service in Vermont and those factors keeping the state from universal availability of broadband. The second report, Access for All: Meeting Vermont's Broadband and Wireless Goals, recommends steps for achieving this goal.
• On March 2, the Department of Public Service and Verizon Vermont filed an agreement with the Vermont Public Service Board that will result in a significant expansion of broadband availability by the company throughout its Vermont service territory.
